We are selling an original Eyeball sphere lamp by ABO Randers, made in Denmark, presumably from the 1970s. This compact lamp is a characteristic example of Danish Space Age design from that era. The spherical metal shade sits on a magnetic base and can be freely adjusted in various directions. This allows the lamp to be used as a table or bedside lamp as well as a wall lamp. This magnetic sphere lamp by ABO Randers is very similar to the Ny-Mag H.63 by ABO Randers, so the design can probably be attributed to Hans Jørgen Berthel. However, we could not find any definitive contemporary documentation confirming the designer attribution for this particular piece. The original ABO Randers Danmark marking is present on the underside. The dark brown lamp is in good vintage condition. The originally glossy surface has become somewhat duller with age and shows a few minor scratches and paint chips, as shown in the photos. A nearly identical dark brown E.S. The Horn Type 503 by Benny Frandsen is also available and listed separately. Both lamps have virtually identical dimensions and color and can be sold as a set upon request.
