Product description
Vintage Eugenio Gerli for Tecno "142" design armchair, 1960s, Italy, on wheels.
In good vintage condition,
light signs of wear due to age and use:
With 1 small damage to the side, not through and through, could easily be repaired by an experienced upholsterer!
Left side, when standing in front of the armchair, at the height of the middle of the armrest.
The backrests move and mold to the body, and the wheels make them wonderfully mobile. Comparable to the Alky by Artifort Castelli, but definitely more comfortable!
materials,
black upholstery, with chrome-plated metal/plastic casters/wheels.
We also have 2 dark brown corduroy examples, see the other advertisements.
The 142 series has stood the test of time and has become a classic Tecno product. With Osvaldo Borsani of the historical working system called Graphis (1968), architect Eugenio Gerli designed various icons for Tecno, including these armchairs. Metal structure, foam, fully upholstered on casters.
Very similar to Pierre Paulin Artifort chairs
The series was designed to meet the demand that arose as a result of the revolution in home design that began in the sixties, when the lounge, dining room, and relaxation area all began to merge into one multifunctional space.
