Product description
Original French Electro Vedette wall clock, dating from approximately the 1950s.
A particularly decorative example featuring a rectangular dark wood case, black rounded side pieces, and a large round dial behind convex glass. The gold-colored numerals, bezel, and ornate hands form a beautiful contrast with the dark wood.
At the bottom is an original brass company plate with the inscription:
“Filature de la Marlière – A. Georges Picavet – 1923–1953”
Presumably, the clock was presented or used at the time to commemorate Georges Picavet's 30th anniversary at Filature de la Marlière. Therefore, 1923–1953 is likely not the clock's production date, but it does make it a nice and unique piece with provenance.
At the back is the original Electro Vedette movement, marked 120 V – 50 Hz – courant alternatif. Authentic vintage condition with signs of use and age consistent with its age. The wood and brass have a beautiful natural patina.
The clock is not working. The cord needs to be replaced.
