Product description
This Dijkstra floor lamp is a distinctive design from the Space Age era, produced in the Netherlands. The fixture stands out due to its two adjustable spherical shades, which form an iconic silhouette typical of lighting designs from the seventies.
The lamp features a chrome-plated metal stand and a heavy, round black base for stability. The shades combine brushed aluminum with transparent brown acrylic, ensuring a warm and focused light distribution. The shades are height-adjustable and can rotate, allowing the lamp to serve as both a reading lamp and mood lighting. The fixture is equipped with the original wiring and a floor switch.
The object is in functional condition with an authentic patina that reflects its age. The materials show characteristic signs of use, contributing to the piece's vintage appearance. Normal signs of wear for a lamp of this age. Photos show a small dent in the top shade, a small tear in the acrylic shade, and some scratches on the base. Everything is shown in the photos. This floor lamp comes into its own perfectly in a Mid-Century Modern or eclectic interior. The design provides a striking accent next to a lounge chair or acts as a mood setter in a seating area.
