Inspired by the Pirouett' model by Jean Chavanis, this work lamp, known as a notary's lamp, was originally used to light typewriters and accounting machines at the beginning of the twentieth century.It is a portable electric lamp with a light that can be oriented in all directions and with an adjustable height of light. One of its characteristics is its faceted lampshade, typically art deco in shape, as well as the articulation that allows its arm to retract into the column, a revolution for the time.In this case, this trade lamp is mounted on a shaft with cut sides with a circular base and has a gilded metal shade.This high-end French realization for the time, seduces by its contemporary form and by the history it conveys. ********Period : 1930Very good condition.
