Danish vintage chest of drawers, designed by Kai Kristiansen and manufactured in the 1950s. This piece of furniture is a fine example of high-quality Scandinavian design from the mid-20th century, in which functionality, refined simplicity, and artisanal craftsmanship take center stage.
Kai Kristiansen (born in 1929) is one of the influential designers of Danish Modernism. He was educated at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen and gained international fame in the 1950s and 1960s with furniture characterized by lightweight construction, clean lines, and carefully worked-out proportions. His designs combined aesthetics and practicality in a timeless way and were produced by various renowned Danish furniture manufacturers. To this day, his furniture is beloved by collectors and enthusiasts of mid-century modern design.
This chest of drawers is finished in walnut veneer and is characterized by its warm wood color, subtle grain pattern, and elegant, balanced design. The cabinet offers spacious and practical storage space and, thanks to its understated appearance, is a versatile addition to both modern and vintage interiors.
