Product description
Slim console / red lacquered auxiliary cabinet in Chinoiserie style from the 70s. A piece with history, character and an imposing visual presence • Artistic lacquering in bright red with gold leaf reliefs and detailed oriental scenes (pagodas, trees, birds, figures, flowers, butterflies…) on doors, sides and top • 20 cm deep, ideal for not taking up space • Patinated bronze handles, original fully functional key and door fittings • Interior, shelf and back in red • Slight signs of use DETAILS OF ITS ORIGIN: • The cabinet was acquired new with a different decoration (the original period label is still visible under the red paint on the back) • The artisanal lacquering was later commissioned to a well-known artist of the time (surname Carvajal, with a workshop in the upper area of Barcelona, Capitán Arenas street 58 in the 70s) SPECIFICATIONS: • Origin: Artisanal commission, Barcelona (Spain) • Period: 70s • Technique: Lacquered with golden reliefs • Dimensions: 103 x 74 x 20 cm • Weight: 16.5 kg • Condition details: Very good exterior vintage condition. The front, top and side lacquering retain excellent shine and vibrancy, maintaining their beautiful original fittings. Completely solid structure. True to its history, the reverse and the red interior show superficial marks and honest and logical wear due to use and the passage of time (small localized scuffs on edges that do not affect the wood), which reaffirms its patina and authenticity. Due to its vintage nature and the natural settling of the wood, it requires a slight shim at the base for optimal millimeter leveling depending on the type of floor
