Product description
This is a vintage ceramic bowl, handmade in the famous pottery town of Vallauris in France. The piece stands out for its organic leaf shape and the vibrant, expressive glaze characteristic of the mid-20th century Vallauris style.
The bowl is made of ceramic and hand-decorated, as indicated by the original sticker 'Céramique Vallauris Décor Main'. The palette consists of a deep red base with swirls of black, turquoise, and brown, finished with a high-gloss glaze. This technique, known as 'lave émaillée' or enameled lava, creates a unique and dynamic surface.
The overall condition of the bowl is excellent, retaining its original colors and shine. The fact that the original paper sticker is still present suggests that the object has been carefully preserved and primarily served as a decorative piece.
This bowl is a characterful object that adds a touch of color and artistic flair to any interior. It functions both as a standalone decorative artwork on a sideboard or coffee table, and as a vide-poche in a hallway.
