Large vintage ceramic hand bowl / vide-poche in a warm cream color. The bowl is shaped like an open hand and features a beautiful smooth, glossy finish. Due to its generous size and sculptural form, this is a striking decorative object that instantly adds character to an interior. Originally intended as a vide-poche – a small dish for storing small items such as keys, jewelry, or coins. However, this hand truly comes into its own as a decorative object on a sideboard, coffee table, nightstand, desk, or in an open cabinet. The design aligns beautifully with the popular vintage 60s, 70s, and 80s trends and sculptural decor. Furthermore, thanks to the neutral cream color, it combines easily with various interior styles, from mid-century modern and postmodern to Japandi, minimalist, and eclectic. Similar hand-shaped ceramic vide-poches are offered online as vintage French/European design objects and decorative bowls in the style of Georges Jouve, with examples of the same size selling for around €80-180 (and sometimes even €530).
