Charming vintage ceramic donkey figurine from the 1960s. Marked "Made in Japan" on the underside, it is a fine example of the decorative ceramic figures produced in Japan for export during this period. The little donkey has a particularly endearing, slightly playful design with large, upright ears, a long black mane, and a sculpted tail. The coloring is in warm cream, brown, and black tones. Reddish-brown hooves and the contrasting inner ears add further accents. The glossy glaze emphasizes the figurine's typical vintage character. With its somewhat naive and humorous style, the donkey possesses a delightful 1950s/60s kitsch charm and is ideally suited as a small collector's item or decorative object.
