About this seller
Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage ceiling light, manufactured by the Danish manufacturer Steen & Steensen. The lamp combines a metal fixture with a decorative glass shade, a characteristic design from the mid-twentieth century. The piece stands out for its sculptural glasswork and the warm, atmospheric lighting it produces. The construction consists of a metal base with a gold-colored, brushed finish. The shade is made of thick, pressed glass with a structured, almost bumpy surface and amber-colored accents that give the light a soft, golden glow. The design is representative of the Scandinavian lighting tradition from the 1960s and 1970s, where functionality and aesthetic form come together. The lamp is in good vintage condition, retaining its original character. The glass is completely intact, without cracks or chips. The metal fixture shows a slight, authentic patina consistent with the age and use of the object. Due to its modest height, this ceiling light is ideal for rooms with a standard or lower ceiling, such as a hallway, bedroom, or study. The fixture adds an element of Mid-Century Modern design to an interior and fits well with both vintage and more eclectic styles.
