Product description
Extraordinary panel made in the first quarter of the 20th century in China. This carefully carved high relief depicts different scenes from the same battle. These scenes are separated thanks to the different architectural elements that appear distributed throughout the zig-zag composition. Warriors mounted on horses carry spears and destroy the enemy, always a war theme in Chinese art. Great profusion of details, a kind of horror vacui, emphasized with the tree branches that complete and unite all the images. Carved and gilded wood, framed with an olive green velvet background that stands out even more from the gold. Rectangular and vertical format typical of this type of pieces.
