The caramel-brown grained leather of this frame has acquired over time a warm and deep patina, characteristic of well-cared-for desk objects kept for decades. The tight, regular grain, slightly shiny on the edges, is characteristic of French or English productions from the 1930s-1950s, when desk photo frames were as much a prestigious accessory as an everyday object. The structure is made of wood, covered in leather on all its sides. The inner surface of the mat is lined with smooth cream-beige leather, slightly cracked with age, which contrasts with the subdued brown surround. The support easel, integrated into the back, is covered with the same grained leather and articulated by a metal hinge. The frame can be displayed in both portrait and landscape orientation. Overall dimensions: approximately 29 x 24 cm. Inner mat opening: approximately 20 x 15 cm.
