Vintage Scandinavian cantilever chrome and webbing lounge chair.
I’ve never seen another one like it, this mystery lounge chair hails from Scandinavia and has been expertly crafted in chrome and canvas webbing. Using techniques pioneered by the great Danish designers of the time it’s a twist on chairs constructed in the manner of Bruno Mathsson but also echoes later designs for Getama by Hans Wegner. Unfortunately there is no maker’s mark but there’s no question it’s design and detailing like the adjustable chrome levelling feet under each base support indicates quality craftsmanship.
It’s in good vintage condition with just a few minor marks to the webbing here and there with the sturdy, but sculptural cantilever chrome frame in great condition. It’s both comfortable and stylish and in the right setting would look stunning.
