Vintage Ceramic Santa Claus Candy Container – J.M. Radureau, Vallauris (no. 2825)
This rare and charming ceramic artwork is signed by J.M. Radureau and bears the number 2825, indicating a limited edition and studio registration.
It is a so-called candy container: a bag of candy could be placed in the hood on the back. This combination of artistic design and playful functionality makes the piece unique and beloved by collectors of Christmas decorations and ceramics.
The ceramic figurine by J.M. Radureau likely dates from the 1960s. The artist Radureau was active during the heyday of ceramic production in Vallauris, which followed the arrival of Pablo Picasso in 1948 and transformed the city into an artistic center. This figurine reflects that tradition and is not only a charming Christmas decoration but also a collector's item with historical value.
The piece is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or damage. The combination of signature, numbering and playful functionality makes this figurine particularly attractive to collectors of Vallauris ceramics and vintage Christmas decorations.
