A beautiful and characteristic mid-century design vase from the renowned West German manufacturer Walter Gerhards KG (Ransbach-Baumbach). This model (number 240/30) dates from the late 60s or early 70s and is a fantastic example of European brutalist ceramics.
Features & Design:
The design stands out with its powerful, deeply incised geometric triangles on the belly of the vase, filled with contrasting colors and textures. Both the slender neck and the tapered base feature a very fine-meshed relief (waffle structure). The inside and bottom show the characteristic red clay. The model and height number are manually incised on the base: 240/30.
