Product description
Vintage Brutalist Turned Oak Altar Candlestick – 28cm Heavy Pricket Holder For sale: A striking, heavy vintage mid-century hand-turned solid oak church-style altar candlestick holder. A monumental statement piece in the robust Brutalist home decor style of the 1960s-1970s. This chunky design is masterfully crafted from thick, high-quality European oak, featuring a classic baluster pillar shape with unique geometric faceted flat-cut details around the central column. The top features a wide integrated wax drip pan dish, topped with a solid 6cm candle nozzle and fitted with its original, thick black wrought-iron pricket spike to securely hold large, heavy pillar candles. * Era: Circa 1960s - 1970s * Style: Brutalist / Gothic Revival / Rustic Chalet / Mid-Century Modern * Material: Solid Oak Wood & Wrought Iron * Condition: Great vintage condition with excellent structural stability. The oak displays a beautiful deep, prominent wood grain texture under a rich dark brown stain. Shows minor, superficial character wear from historical candle use, adding to its authentic medieval charm. Precise Structural Dimensions: * Total Height: 28.0 cm (including iron spike) * Bottom Base Diameter: 20.0 cm * Top Drip Dish Diameter: 17.0 cm * Candle Nozzle / Tower Height (on top of dish): 6.0 cm * Central Column Height: 18.0 cm * Central Column / Pillar Diameter: 8.0 cm * Wood Slab Thickness: 3.0 cm A wonderful, dramatic accent piece for a mid-century sideboard vignette, a rustic dining table layout, or cozy farmhouse mantelpiece styling. Carefully packaged with heavy bubble wrap and shipped instantly!
