Private sellerProduct description
This is a vintage pricket candlestick, a fine example of the Brutalist style that emerged during the Mid-Century Modern era. The piece is distinguished by its strong architectural form and the inherent texture of its cast brass construction.
Crafted from solid brass, the candlestick features a complex, interlocking structure of geometric plates with cutout details, creating a sculptural, three-dimensional presence. It stands 22 cm tall with a width of 9 cm and a depth of 9.5 cm. The top features a circular drip pan and a central spike, or pricket, designed to securely hold a pillar candle. The gold-tone of the brass provides a warm, metallic finish.
The candlestick is in good vintage condition, consistent with its age and history. It retains a natural patina that accentuates the textured surfaces and adds to its authentic character. The piece has been carefully cleaned and polished to preserve its integrity while highlighting the quality of the brass.
As a decorative object, this candle holder makes a significant statement on a sideboard, mantelpiece, or as a centerpiece on a dining table. Its robust and artistic form complements interiors ranging from classic Mid-Century Modern to more eclectic and contemporary spaces.
