Product description
This is an authentic British GPO 312 L telephone, an iconic design from the mid-twentieth century. The device is finished in a distinctive green color and represents an important piece of telecommunications history.
This telephone is made from an early plastic, probably bakelite, and features the classic rotary dial with both numbers and letters. Characteristic of the 312 model is the pull-out drawer at the bottom, originally intended for notes. The handset cord is made of braided textile, which contributes to its vintage look. The '55' stamp on the handset indicates a production year of 1955.
The object is in good vintage condition, with a patina consistent with its age and use over the years. The original luster of the material has largely been preserved, giving it an authentic character. This piece is a decorative item and its functionality has not been tested.
As a decorative object, this telephone adds a touch of retro charm to any interior. It is a striking accent on a desk, sideboard, or in a bookcase and fits perfectly within a vintage, eclectic, or industrial living style.
