In 1956, Benno Premsela designed the ingenious yet simple Benno Mirror. After almost 70 years, the mirror has become a true design icon.
The story goes that Spectrum asked Premsela to design a beautiful interior accessory. Premsela looked through the stock and semi-finished products Spectrum already had and selected a wooden ring intended for a small table. He cut a slot in it and informed Spectrum that his design was complete. The Benno mirror was born.
The last photo and the text above are from Spectrum's website.
The wooden ring has been given a fresh coat of white paint, giving it a sleek new look. The mirror has some age spots.
