Rare and large vintage desk designed by Egon Eiermann for Herman Miller.
Two-level desk. Walnut veneered tabletop with green vinyl. Black coated central column with chrome-plated aluminum legs. The desk was produced in small series for the Bundestag Bonn or the German Federal Parliament in 1968.

In very good vintage condition. May show some light signs of wear due to age and use. Mainly on the upper green vinyl surface and wooden parts.
Eiermann was not only appreciated as an architect,
He also had a strong and lasting influence on the coming generation in furniture design. Eiermann was the first to develop serial furniture in Germany after the Second World War, which could compete with international standards in terms of form and functionality. It is thanks to him that Germany, after the phase of National Socialist isolation, was able to reconnect with its past and join the circle of excellent design nations.
In 1953, Egon Eiermann designed the Eiermann 1 counterframe with slanted crossbars at the same level. His other groundbreaking designs include the steel tube chair SE 68, wicker chair E 10, wooden folding chair SE 18, and church chair SE 121, which are still in the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche in Berlin today.
