Vintage baroque wooden frame handmade in France, Louis XVI style. Chromed with gold leaf. It is in excellent condition. Original colors and tones. It combines with any type of decoration as it is a classic piece. Measurements: exterior 70 x 60 cm and 8cm wide, interior for painting or mirror 46 x 39 cm without white inner frame and 34 x 42cm with the white inner frame. The Louis XVI style (in French: style Louis XVI), known in France at the time as Style à la grecque (Greek style), is an artistic style of decoration and furniture that emerged in France after the Transition Style, which had appeared as the avant-garde of the Louis XV Style (Rococó). It is characterized by dramatic contrasts, elaborate ornamentation, grandeur, and the expression of intense emotions. In framing, the baroque style often inspires ornate moldings and gilded finishes.
