Product description
Characterful vintage metal rolling cart with a clear, functional design language and authentic Swiss industrial history. Particularly interesting is the preserved original sign with the inscription Metallarbeiterschule Winterthur, which documents the origin of the cart. The traditional school was founded in 1889 and bore this name until it was renamed Mechatronik Schule Winterthur in 2014.
The cart is made entirely of metal and painted in a subtle grey tone. Four slender round tube legs, together with the two shelves, form a robust yet pleasantly reduced construction. The raised edges of the shelves prevent smaller items from easily sliding off when moved.
A beautiful constructive detail is the handle shaped from a round tube, which extends laterally beyond the body and allows for easy maneuvering. Four castors with metal mounts emphasize the original workshop and utility furniture character.
Condition:
Good authentic vintage condition with signs of wear consistent with age and use. The painted metal surfaces show minor scratches, abrasions, isolated discolorations, and slight traces of previous use. The castors and metal mounts also show an age-appropriate patina. Overall, the cart presents beautifully and characterfully with a convincing industrial appeal.
