A vintage Ari lounge chair with ottoman, designed by Arne Norell for Norell Möbel AB. This iconic Swedish design from 1966 is a prime example of Scandinavian modernism, combining an industrial frame with luxurious comfort. The Ari chair was posthumously awarded the British Furniture of the Year award in 1973 and is included in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York.
The chair is crafted with a brushed steel frame, forming an elegant yet robust base. The seat and backrest are made of high-quality brown leather, executed in a characteristic channeled design. The cushions are held in place by leather straps with buckles at the back, a detail that is both functional and aesthetically defining for the design. This piece was produced in Sweden, as indicated on the original factory label.
