Rare Italian Brevetto Condor Architect’s Drawing Table with Mavitta Drafting Machine
A rare and highly characterful Italian Brevetto Condor architect’s drawing table, featuring its original cast-iron adjustable mechanism marked “CONDOR” and “BREVETTO”.
The table has a beautifully aged solid oak frame with a softwood drawing surface and an unusual sprung counterbalance mechanism, allowing the large drawing board to be smoothly adjusted through a wide range of working angles. The exposed mechanical construction, substantial proportions and natural patina give the piece a distinctive industrial and architectural character.
It is accompanied by its original Mavitta drafting machine, with articulated parallel-motion arms and drafting head. Scales are not included.
The table is currently in full working condition and remains in use within a professional design studio. The mechanism operates smoothly and the table has been retained in its original condition, preserving its authentic character and patina.
An exceptional piece of early Italian architectural and industrial design, suitable for continued use in a studio or as a striking statement piece of furniture for an architect, designer or collector.
