ProfessionalProduct description
The Eros marble table by Angelo Mangiarotti is one of the significant designs of Italian furniture design of the 1970s. Designed in 1971 for Skipper, the Eros collection embodies Mangiarotti's exceptional approach to natural stone, construction, and sculptural form. The round tabletop with a diameter of approximately 130 cm rests on a central, organically shaped marble base. Characteristic is the connection between the tabletop and the base, where Mangiarotti made the constructive possibilities of the material itself an essential part of the design. The light marble with its individual grey-beige grain emphasizes the monolithic appearance of the table. Despite its massive materiality, the design appears exceptionally elegant due to its flowing transitions and balanced proportions. An iconic design of Italian modernism that goes far beyond its function as a dining table and convinces as an independent sculptural design object.
