Product description
A special piece of American street history! This original vintage Chicago Defender newspaper vending machine is a real eye-catcher for lovers of industrial design, Americana, and unique vintage objects.
The machine has a robust metal construction, executed in a striking deep blue color with large white Chicago Defender lettering. The authentic signs of use, weathered paint, and industrial details give this object its characteristic appearance.
Originally, these types of newspaper vending machines were used on American street corners to sell daily newspapers. They have now grown into special collector's items that you don't often encounter in Europe.
A piece of American history
The Chicago Defender is a historic American newspaper, founded in 1905 by Robert S. Abbott. The newspaper played an important role within the African-American community and the American civil rights movement.
The striking lettering not only makes this machine a Decorative Object, but also gives it an interesting historical background.
The display on the front contains a copy of USA Today, while the top still features the characteristic coin slot and price indications.
A special eye-catcher
This vintage American newspaper vending machine looks fantastic in an industrial loft interior, mancave, bar, restaurant, shop, or creative workspace.
This is also a particularly interesting piece for collectors of American memorabilia, vintage advertising objects, and industrial curiosities.
Its impressive height of 124 cm and striking blue color immediately attract attention.
