For sale: A beautiful, authentic ashtray made of solid, hand-carved alabaster from Italy, likely produced in the renowned Volterra region around the 1960s or 70s. This unique object is in excellent condition and displays a striking contrast between the rustic, roughly carved exterior (with a tree bark look) and the silky-smooth, polished bowl on the inside. The alabaster features a unique color pattern in characteristic brown, ochre yellow, and soft green tones, making it a perfect example of Mid-century modern / Brutalist style. This multifunctional ashtray is not only a stylish smoking accessory but also highly decorative as a 'vide poche' (small storage tray for keys or jewelry) on a sideboard. Dimensions: Width approx. 13-14 cm (see photos for details). Comes with a matching small vase or candle holder.
