Private sellerProduct description
This set features a vintage absinthe fountain, an iconic object from the Parisian café culture of the Belle Époque. The centerpiece is the fountain itself, designed for the ritual of preparing absinthe, where iced water is slowly poured over a sugar cube to sweeten the liqueur.
The fountain consists of a cut glass reservoir, adorned with a diamond pattern and vertical fluting, resting on an ornate metal base. The metal, which appears to be silver-plated and brass-plated, features a beaded circular base, a fluted stem, and a removable lid. The set measures approximately 39 cm in height. It is accompanied by two openwork absinthe spoons, designed to hold the sugar above the glass during preparation.
The set is in good overall condition, consistent with its age and use. The glassware is intact, while the metal parts show a patina and signs of wear that attest to its history and authentic character. The two matching spoons complete the set for a traditional experience.
This absinthe fountain is not only a functional accessory for spirits enthusiasts but also a refined decorative object. It will find its perfect place on a bar cart, in a display cabinet, or as a conversation piece in a classic, Art Nouveau, or eclectic interior.
Spoons included,
Glasses not included.
