Product description
This floor lamp is a characteristic design by Goffredo Reggiani from the 1970s, executed in the recognizable Space Age style. The fixture stands out due to the two adjustable spherical shades, often referred to as 'eyeball' lamps, which create a playful and functional lighting effect.
The lamp is crafted from glass, with the white shades and base contrasting with the slender, chrome-plated stand. The shades are height-adjustable and can be directed independently of each other, providing focused lighting or atmospheric indirect light. The round, weighted base provides stability to the assembly. The design reflects the progressive aesthetic of the seventies, in which organic forms and industrial materials were combined.
The object is in a condition commensurate with its age and use, while retaining its original character. The construction is solid and the adjustment mechanisms function properly. Unfortunately, the socket is in completely original condition and should be replaced with a modern outlet; additionally, the lamp has some scratches on the base and needs some TLC. This floor lamp comes into its own perfectly in an eclectic or vintage-inspired interior. The fixture functions as a striking sculptural element next to a seating area or as a functional reading lamp in a study.
