Product description
✨ MINT CONDITION / NEVER USED ✨ Extremely rare mid-century German modernist piece! This is an authentic 1954 "Phönix" (Phoenix) cast iron wall plaque designed by the legendary German sculptor Ewald Mataré (famous for mentoring Joseph Beuys) and cast by the renowned Buderus foundry. Features a stunning stylized open-work profile of a phoenix facing left, complete with the embossed "1954" date on the side. • Condition: Perfect, pristine vintage condition. Never used/hung, no chips, rust, or wear to the black patina. • Material: Black-patinated cast iron (Eisenguss) • Dimensions: Approx. 16 cm x 14 cm • Back: Features the official Buderus foundry hallmark stamp. This piece is a true 1954 original casting, featuring the distinctive raised "1954" date on the front right and the official Buderus foundry hallmark stamp on the reverse. (Note: This is a highly desirable lifetime casting, not to be confused with the later 1990s reissues). A beautiful, heavy, high-end collector's piece for anyone into Bauhaus, mid-century modern, brutalist decor, or German art history. 📦 Fast & secure shipping (will be packed with extra care!). DM with any questions. Tags: #EwaldMatare #MidCenturyModern #Buderus #Brutalist #VintageDecor ArtPlaque GermanDesign 1950s Bauhaus CastIron Collectible
