A very pretty vintage pendant light from the 1950s, with a delightfully retro charm, featuring a superb white opaline glass shade adorned with a painted design in a Japanese style.
The shade has a particularly elegant, slightly domed shape, with a scalloped and undulating edge that gives it a soft, gentle feel.
The very thin white opaline glass diffuses a warm and pleasant light, ideal for creating a cozy atmosphere.
The design depicts an Asian landscape, including a small traditional pagoda-style structure surrounded by hills, water, and vegetation. The shades of blue, green, and brown stand out delicately against the white opaline glass, giving this pendant light a great deal of character.
The upper part retains its original metal frame, with its patinated brass mounting system, porcelain cover, and white fabric/electrical cable.
It is fitted with a bayonet socket that accommodates an E27 bulb.
In excellent overall vintage condition, with minor marks, traces, and imperfections consistent with age and use, which contribute to the charm of this antique piece. It is fully functional.
