Antique lidded box by Villeroy & Boch Dresden – circa 1900
Small historical ceramic box with lid from Villeroy & Boch's Dresden production.
The reduced color scheme is particularly appealing: a cream-white body with a fine red line and a striking red lid knob. The clear, harmonious shape looks exceptionally decorative even in modern interiors.
The historical Mercury mark on the underside with the inscription “Villeroy & Boch Dresden – Made in Germany” indicates production around 1900.
Presumably originally used as a small sugar bowl or bonbonnière, the object is also suitable today for storing small items.
