Silkscreen 43/60
Vasarely became one of the leading figures of geometric abstract painting, also known as op art (from: optical art), which became widely known in Europe and America in the 1960s.
Usually Vasarely worked with strong contrasts, initially in black and white, later also in colour. The effect of his lines and the way he uses them is that the impression is created that everything in the image plane starts to vibrate.
