Victor Ramirez is from Chile. In 1975, he moved to Barcelona, where he has lived and worked ever since.
In the meantime, he has also worked in countries such as Germany, Mexico, and Belgium. Since 2003, he has also had a studio in Antwerp.
Victor’s work is clearly influenced by his homeland Chile, by his country of adoption (Belgium), and also by aspects of the European artistic tradition. These elements can be identified formally, technically, and in terms of content.
One can easily enjoy Ramirez’s artwork due to his expressive style, which masterfully controls colors and light. For Ramirez, these two essential elements are independent and symbolize both the spiritual affective content of Goethe and the dramatic existential aspect of Van Gogh.
