VECA, Italy, circa 1970 – Architectural Masterpiece
Exceptional Italian modernist bathroom set, over 50 years old, attributed to VECA, made of thick smoked glass and chrome metal.
Centerpiece: spectacular double mirror combining a rose peach tinted background (109.5 × 57.5 cm) and a clear beveled central mirror (70 × 47 cm), superimposed in relief to create a remarkable depth effect.
The set includes two sculptural smoked glass and chrome wall lights, a shelf attached to the mirror (58.5 × 12 cm), two curved towel rails (60.5 and 41 cm), a chrome towel rail, two soap dishes and a cup holder retaining its rare original matching cup.
Remarkable feature: solid smoked glass approximately 11 to 12 mm thick, especially on the shelf and towel rails.
Very good state of preservation. Only a few tiny, very discreet chips are present at the ends of the glass of one wall light (see photograph). The wall lights retain their original electrical installation, but require rewiring and checking before use.
VECA attribution supported by comparison with a documented signed set at Gazette Drouot.
Sold exclusively as a complete set.
