Product description
This Murano glass vase is an example of the celebrated "sommerso" technique, attributed to designer Flavio Poli for the Mandruzzato glassworks. Its sculptural form and geometric facets are emblematic of mid-century Italian design.
Handcrafted in Murano, Italy, this piece features the sommerso technique, which involves immersing layers of different colored glass. The smoke grey interior is encased in a thick layer of clear glass, creating a remarkable effect of depth and color. The vase has a squared and faceted shape that dynamically catches and reflects light. It measures approximately 18 cm in height.
The object is in excellent vintage condition, retaining its structural integrity and original brilliance. The considerable weight of the solid glass gives the vase a solid presence and a sense of high artisanal quality. Its polished finish accentuates the contrast between colors and the precision of the cuts.
Thanks to its distinctive design, this vase is an ideal accent piece for a sideboard, console, or bookshelf. It integrates perfectly into Mid-Century Modern, minimalist, or contemporary interiors, adding a touch of sculptural elegance and Italian design history.
