It features a dark geometric relief design on a beige and orange base, typical of the "fat lava" style of that era.
A beautiful and classic example of mid-20th-century German art ceramics.

VEB Haldensleben, successor to Carstens Uffrecht, founded in 1845, became a major East German manufacturer after 1945, specializing in ceramic vases with soft colors and metallic glazes. Following German reunification in 1990, the factory was taken over by the Carstens family and renamed Carstens Keramik Rheinsberg.
