Product description
Superb ceramic jug vase, designed by
the illustrious German designer Heinz Siery for
the Scheurich Keramik manufacturer during the
1960s / 1970s. This emblematic piece
of Mid-Century design from West Germany
is a beautiful example of post-war modernism.
Form 423, created by Siery, is distinguished
by its generous bulbous lines and its perfectly
proportioned side handle. The enamel work
was supervised by the
celebrated chief decorator Oswald Kleudgen. He
brilliantly combines dark,
granular and mineral textured bands with magnificent
smooth enamel flows in shades of ochre,
brick and ecru.
The original base features a perfectly clear
embossed marking, confirming the origin of
the manufacturer. A major, highly decorative
and sought-after piece of ceramic art.
