Product description
This is a ceramic vase by the Dutch artist Clemens Briels, dating from 1999. The work is an excellent example of Briels' distinctive style, characterized by vibrant colors and dynamic, almost cartoonish figures.
The vase is made of white ceramic and serves as a canvas for a polychrome, figurative representation. Around the base, the texts "Strip in the 21st CENTURY" and "Looking for a landing" are applied, emphasizing the narrative character of the piece. The work is signed "C. Briels" and was, as indicated on the bottom, exclusively produced for NUON, making it an interesting piece with a specific provenance.
The overall condition of the vase is very good. The colors are bright and the glaze layer is intact, without visible damage, which testifies to careful preservation over the years.
As a striking decorative object, this vase adds a playful and artistic element to various interior styles, from modern to eclectic. It can serve both as an autonomous work of art and be used functionally.
There is a small dent in the upper rim of the vase - see photo - but it is not a chip.
