Between Worlds explores the relationship between the physical and the intangible — between the world around us and what we carry within ourselves.
A human figure appears suspended in a moment of transformation, connected to a circular form above that may be interpreted as a world, a memory, an inner reality or another state of existence. The interpretation is intentionally left open to the viewer.
The artwork was created over approximately three months using VANO's self-developed technique. Braided thread is used to construct form, structure and relief, while opened fibres create movement, atmosphere and light. The work is built layer by layer directly on canvas, giving the surface a physical depth that changes with the viewing angle and illumination.
