Like a wide-open shell, this vintage bowl is a real centerpiece for the table. It is a special piece because it comes from the 1960s. From the 1950s until its closure in 1970, Vannes-le-Châtel used special ovens found only in this firm, the ART Vannes FRANCE ovens.
When making the bowl, a small amount of uranium was added to the glass during the process. In natural light you can't see it, but shine blacklight on it and the glass comes alive with a neon green color!
Vannes-le-Châtel
The bowl was made in 1960 in the French village of Vannes-le-Châtel. This village was home to the company of the same name, Vannes-le-Châtel Art Glass, founded in 1765 and for a long time main producer of French glass. In 1970 production ceased and the company was taken over by Cristal de Sevres.
The bowl is in excellent condition and has an engraved mark.
