A Vallauris ceramic trinket dish from the 1960s-70s, with a free-form shape reminiscent of a stylized seashell. Its organic silhouette with undulating edges is inspired by the mineral and marine world, typical of the biomorphic modernist design of the French Riviera. Superb polychrome glaze with volcanic effects blends deep blue, intense black, luminous green, and touches of magenta pink, with vibrant textures and nuances. The glossy interior features expressive reliefs, giving depth and movement to the piece.
Dimensions: 23 x 16 cm; maximum height 6 cm.
Very good vintage condition, with no chips or visible cracks, and slight irregularities consistent with the handcrafted nature of the piece.
A sculptural decorative object, ideal as a centerpiece, entryway trinket dish, or statement piece in a mid-century interior.
