Expressive large vintage ceramic vase from Vallauris in Southern France, presumably from the 1960s/70s. The tall, slightly conical shape has an exceptionally sculpturally designed rim with several outwardly folded corners. This organic design is part of the original shape of the vase. Particularly effective is the glossy flowing glaze in bright orange, dark brown, beige, and white. The flowing color zones form a lively pattern reminiscent of flames or solidified lava. The inside is also fully glazed in dark brown. The upper rim is designed in a characteristic handkerchief shape. Embossed on the bottom: “VALLAURIS”. The designation confirms its origin from the French ceramic center Vallauris; a specific workshop is not indicated. Good vintage condition, with no chips detected. Dimensions: Height 26 cm Maximum diameter at the top rim approx. 16 cm Weight approx. 1,200 g
