Set of 12 air-blown uranium crystal glasses on stem by Val Saint Lambert. A beautiful set of 12 Val Saint Lambert crystal aperitif or port glasses from the early 20th century, with hand-blown stems with air bubbles and uranium glass bowls with thumbprint cutting, circa 1920/1930. These beauties are perfect for serving drinks or simple desserts and mousses. These 12 vintage stemmed glasses show a bright green color under UV light, which is characteristic of uranium glass (also called Anna green or vaseline glass). Characteristics of these glasses: Material: The glass contains a small amount of uranium, which was used as a colorant. Fluorescence: Under an ultraviolet lamp (blacklight), the glasses glow brightly neon-green. Dating: This type of glassware was mainly produced in Europe and America between approximately 1870 and 1940, during the heyday of pressed and cut glass. The glasses are scratch and chip-free.
