Truly unique desk, one of a kind, once probably made to order for customer. Circa 1900. Ostensibly an ordinary desk until the drawer blocks swing out. Beautiful finish with special wood. In the middle (Where the legs are) is a secret compartment (behind a door). Never seen and will never come across again !!! On top of the desk you can put a panel at a certain angle to possibly place a book on it, this can be at different heights. With the drawers turned out, the desk is 205cm. wide. See photos, they are part of the description. Only to be picked up in Maasmechelen, near Maasmechelen village. Or to be arranged via whoppah courier. Ref.21702024
This desk is in very nice vintage condition. Some discoloration here and there, some scratches, and some spots on top, the desk may need to be waxed once.On the right leather top there is a scratch in the leather.(See pictures, not really disturbing). At the turn-out desk you have the normal use marks from turning out the furniture. At the bottom some discoloration from polishing the floor.(Patina).
