This unique rug (200x300 cm) is a one-of-a-kind design object from the top Danish brand Ege Carpets. It is the winning design of the exclusive design competition that was launched at the time in collaboration with the interior design magazine 101 Woonideeën.
The Design:
The image depicts a beautifully detailed representation of an existing antique French picture postcard (Carte Postale). The subtle discolorations and 'stains' are all part of the original, razor-sharp digital scan and have been printed directly into the yarn. Together with the elegant handwritten text and the old stamp and postmark, they make this carpet a striking and characterful interior item.
Quality:
The rug is made of high-quality textile and finished with a sturdy, fringed edge, of the quality one can expect from Ege. The back features a sturdy, woven backing.
Condition:
The rug is in very good condition. The print is clear and the structure is intact. As mentioned earlier, the visible 'stains' were on the original card and are therefore also printed on the carpet.
It has a predominantly blue-gray color with multicolored accents in the text and stamp.
The generous dimensions make it a practical and decorative element for various rooms. Combines well with both classic and contemporary furniture!
