Product description
An extremely rare, voluminous Space Age globe lamp from the 70s. This specific piece cannot be found anywhere else online, making it a unique collector's item for connoisseurs of mid-century and futuristic design.
Where many similar lamps from this era are made entirely of plastic, this high-end model distinguishes itself with a superior mix of materials.
The large, perfectly round globe (diameter approx. 30 cm) is made of heavy opal glass (milk glass). This provides a beautifully warm, diffuse, and high-quality ambient light that simply cannot be matched with plastic. Moreover, glass never yellows.
The glass globe rests in a sleek, minimalist cylindrical base made of thick, clear Perspex (acrylic glass). Inside is the original, heavy chrome-plated reflector plate with the characteristic industrial ventilation holes — a technical detail indicating quality manufacturing in the style of top brands such as Dijkstra or Harvey Guzzini.
The lamp is in fantastic, completely original vintage condition. The electrics have also been 100% authentically preserved, including the iconic thick coiled cord (pig's tail cord), the round vintage floor switch, and the original flat plug (marked with 6A).
Specifications:
Period: 70s (Original Space Age)
Material: Heavy opal glass & thick clear Perspex
Electrics: Original coiled cord, floor switch and plug (working)
Condition: Very nice vintage condition with minimal, normal traces of time. No chips, cracks or deep scratches.
