Ludvik Volak-designed screens: a minimalist icon of Mid-Century European design. Exceptional craftsmanship. Bent beech wood (clear varnished). Excellent condition. Each screen consists of two superimposed frames with recessed shelves, two vertical supports (connectors), and four feet mounted on glued wooden dowels. Frame height (excluding connectors and feet): 102 cm x 2 = 208 cm Vertical connector height (between frames): 8 cm Connector height (floor & ceiling): 14 cm x 2 = 28 cm Total height (including feet & connectors): 240 cm A ceiling height of 240 cm is not required to integrate these screens into your interior; the connectors and feet can be omitted if the ceiling height is less than 240 cm. Frame width: 55 cm Frame depth: 8 cm Shelf depth inside frames: 15 cm These room dividers can be mounted and used in a variety of ways. Their previous owner used them as bookshelves at their full height (fixed to the floor and ceiling) and positioned away from the walls to accommodate wider books. For stability (due to the weight of the books), both were fixed to the ceiling from the back using small brackets (the locations of which are visible). These room dividers can be mounted in the same way in a corner. They can also be used simply as room dividers with a few items on their shelves (or not). The price shown is for the pair.
