Product description
This is a set of two S 411 armchairs, a Thonet design from 1932. These chairs are an iconic example of the Bauhaus era, characterized by the use of steel tubes and a functional aesthetic.
The armchairs have a 'Freischwinger' or cantilevered frame made of chrome-plated steel, which provides a slightly springy seating comfort. The seat and backrest are upholstered in black Linea leather, and the armrests are made of black stained wood. The design combines the industrial look of the metal with the warmth of the leather and wood.
This set is in very good condition, with an overall appearance consistent with careful use. The construction is solid and the upholstery is well-maintained, preserving the character of the original design.
